Who is responsible
Responsible for the processing of personal data on this website is Dirk Meister Visual Design (Meister & Friends), Lugano, Switzerland. Full contact details are in the Impressum. For any question about your data, write to .
This policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit meisterandfriends.com, and why. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted by Aruba S.p.A., Italy. When you open a page, the server automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system, and the referring page. This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is kept only as long as needed for these purposes.
Contact form and email
If you use the contact form or write to us, we receive the data you enter (for example name, email address and message) by email. Our mailboxes are also hosted by Aruba S.p.A., Italy. We use it only to answer your request and, if it leads to a project, to work with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Form submissions are not stored in a database on the website. We keep correspondence as long as the request requires and as long as the law obliges us to.
Cookies
The website uses only cookies it needs to work, plus the cookies that store your cookie choice (viewed_cookie_policy, cookielawinfo-checkbox-necessary, cookielawinfo-checkbox-non-necessary, CookieLawInfoConsent). We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Visitor statistics (Matomo)
To understand how the website is used, we run Matomo, an open-source statistics tool, on our own web hosting at Aruba. It works without cookies, shortens your IP address before storing it (the last two parts are removed), and the data is not passed on to anyone. It records, for example, the pages viewed, the referring website, the approximate country, and the browser and device type. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Films (Vimeo)
Our films are hosted on Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., USA). A Vimeo player loads only when you click a film. We use Vimeo’s “do not track” setting, which tells Vimeo not to track your viewing session. Vimeo still receives your IP address and the technical data needed to play the video. Even with “do not track”, Vimeo may set technically necessary security cookies, and Vimeo cookies already stored in your browser may be sent when the player connects. More in Vimeo’s privacy policy: vimeo.com/privacy.
Links to LinkedIn
Our link to LinkedIn is a plain link. No data is sent to LinkedIn until you click it.
Transfers abroad
Vimeo may process data in the USA. Vimeo participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, its UK extension and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which cover transfers from the EU, the UK and Switzerland. Details in Vimeo’s privacy policy, section on international data transfers.
Your rights
Where the legal requirements are met, you can ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can object to processing. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to . You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU the authority of your country of residence.
Changes
We update this policy when the website changes. The current version is always on this page.
